The Science Behind Your Beauty
No other skincare ingredient in history has been as well studied and peer reviewed as Vitamin-A. This group of compounds, known as retinoids, are clinically-proven to promote skin cell turnover, stimulate collagen, improve skin tone, clear the pores, increase epidermal thickness and soften the appearance of wrinkles.
The great news about retinoids is that they can benefit most skin types. When starting any retinoid, however, it’s important to ease into things slowly. Doing so will help your skin acclimate gradually to the Vitamin-A and lessen the potential for skin irritation.
The type of retinoid used is equally as important. Not all Vitamin-A compounds are created equal. The most active and pure form, retinoic acid (also known as tretinoin) is only available by prescription. That’s because it can cause considerable redness and irritation.
On the other end of the spectrum is retinyl palmitate. This ingredient is still highly effective for anti-aging and acne scars, yet it’s the least irritating of all the retinoids. Retinyl palmitate is an ideal ingredient for all skin types.
ENVIRON Products Contain Graduated Retinyl Palmitate
The star players in the ENVIRON skincare lineup are the Vita-Antioxidant AVST Moisturisers which come in five different strengths (from 1-5). Plus there’s also an introductory gel which may be used instead of Vita-Antioxidant AVST Moisturiser 1.
The goal is to gradually work your way up to using Vita-Antioxidant AVST Moisturiser 5, containing the highest concentration of retinyl palmitate. At this high level and potency, you skin will experience the most anti-aging and skin-perfecting benefits, particularly over the long-term.
Additionally, research shows that retinoids such as retinyl palmitate have a synergistic effect when paired with other antioxidants such as vitamins C and E. That’s why most ENVIRON products contain these powerhouse ingredients in most of in their skincare products.
